Description
It is a palm with large, shiny fan-shaped leaves and spiny stems.
Care
It is usually grown as an indoor plant, as it is very sensitive to cold; ideally, however, it should be kept outside whenever possible because it grows quite large.
Watering
When kept in a pot, they should be watered moderately, more or less every 4 days during the summer period. In winter, waterings should be spread out more. Once they are in the ground and planted in it for a few years, they will be watered occasionally. If it rains regularly, later we can even stop watering.
Temperature
Livistona is a large palm tree, so ideally we should have it outside whenever possible. However, it is a plant that freezes in very cold weather.
Transplanting
It does not have invasive roots, but it is recommended to move it about five meters away from where we have installed drainage system, pipes or even soft paved floors.
Tips
You should know that this plant can grow up to 10 metres in height, with large leaves 1 metre long.
