Description
Pilea peperomioides, also known as "Chinese money plant", is a plant with smooth, round, fleshy, medium-sized green leaves on long stems. If you're looking for a stylish, modern houseplant, then this is definitely it. It suits any minimalist interior design while it is believed to bring good luck.
Care
Place it in a bright spot but not in direct sunlight as it can damage the foliage. It can, however, live in places with partial shade.
Watering:
This plant is very sensitive to excess moisture in its substrate so make sure it dries out between waterings. Water when the soil has begun to dry out, placing it in a basin of water so that it can absorb the water it needs, but without leaving it in the water for too long.
Temperature:
The optimum temperature range for growing this plant is 16-24 °C and it would be good if the temperature does not drop below 10 °C.
Transplanting:
Prefer soil suitable for indoor plants with good drainage, to which you can add some perlite or pine bark to avoid water retention.
Tips
If the leaves start to fall down, then the plant needs watering.
